Opportunities to be involved

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is seeking expressions of interest from community members for the following groups:

  • Access and Inclusion Advisory Group
  • Cemeteries Advisory Group
  • Audit, Risk and Governance Committee

Access and Inclusion Advisory Group

The Shire is seeking nominations for five community member positions. Community members are to have direct interest or lived experience related to access and inclusion.

Cemeteries Advisory Group

The Shire is seeking nominations for seven community member positions. Community members are to have interest or lived experience relevant to the management and historical protection of cemeteries.

To nominate, please email us a short statement that outlines why you wish to nominate for the advisory group, how you can contribute and what meeting times and days are generally most suitable for you.

Nominations for the Access and Inclusion and Cemeteries Advisory Groups can be sent to info@sjshire.wa.gov.au and close on Friday, 20 March 2020.

Audit, Risk and Governance Committee

The Shire is seeking nominations for the external member position on the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee. The external member will have:

  1. demonstrated high level of expertise and knowledge in fi nancial management, reporting, governance and audit; and
  2. relevant skills and experience in providing independent expert advice.

Under section 5.100 of the Local Government Act 1995, an external member may not be paid for their attendance at a Committee meeting.

External members of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee may receive reimbursement of expenses approved by Council. The value of the reimbursement is to be set at the time of appointment.
