Wildflower Trails

Nestled away within our Shire sits a collection of wildflower trails that each add a splash of colour to our beautiful bushland backdrop.

When in season these tranquil trails are a unique experience offering a peaceful day out with an abundance of sights to soak up - and they're perfect for photos!

Mundlimup Timber Trails

Why should I go?

Steeped in history, the Mundlimup Timber Trail begins at the 1890s timber tramway featuring old methods of the timber industry from over a century ago. Surrounded by natural regrowth jarrah forest, you will pass through some of the area’s signature scenery on this peaceful stroll.

What is on offer?

This one’s all about timing, and Spring is when you should be planning your trip. Blooming wildflowers help transform this trail into a gorgeous backdrop, so be sure to snap a few shots for the gram while you’re there! There are also BBQ facilities if you’re planning on having lunch there.

What else can I do while I’m visiting?

If you’ve come to the Mundlimup Trail for peace and tranquility, perhaps you’re up for a bit of Yoga on the Farm? Offering a variety of sessions, Yoga on the Farm is based just a short drive away in Mardella and would be the perfect way to kick off your day before setting out on your Timber Trail adventure.

Baldwin’s Bluff

Why should I go?

There’s no sight quite like the Aussie bush in full bloom during wildflower season, and Baldwin’s Bluff is a great place to catch a glimpse. If you time your trip just right, you will be able to see this canvas of colour in all its glory.

What is on offer?

Aiding the gorgeous views is the lookout point. Cast your gaze over the Serpentine River Valley and travel through jarrah woodlands before you come to the exposed granite summit. Baldwin’s Bluff is also a great way to experience trail running, or take a more casual approach and enjoy the picnic and BBQ facilities at the access point on the south side of Serpentine National Park.

What else can I do while I’m visiting?

Since you’re already in Serpentine National Park, why not check out the famous Serpentine Falls? When you’re finished exploring you might be feeling a bit peckish, so we recommend stopping by the Serpentine General Store for a pie!

This trail is awesome, we're not bluffing! Read more here

Ken Jones Trail

Why should I go?

A gorgeous walk through rehabilitated forest, this trail is a casual 60-minute trip through Langford Park. However, it’s also a great educational experience. Ken Jones was a key figure in rehabilitating the forest following extensive bauxite mining in the area, and the trail highlights his work.

What is on offer?

Located in Langford Park, there are plenty of facilities to enjoy near this trail. The BBQ area is a great spot to have lunch with the family, and there’s a bike rack in case you’re keen to enjoy the day on wheels.

What else can I do while I’m visiting?

Why not take a drive down Nettleton Road and explore some more of our native forest? You can make your way into the Jarrahdale townsite and check out one of the great spots to grab some food and a drink.

Get to know this trail (and Ken!) a little better
