Products that contain asbestos pose a risk when they are broken or weathered. Before starting any renovations, we recommend that you seek accurate information on asbestos through the Asbestos awareness website

Disposal of material containing asbestos

Asbestos material must be;

  • Separated from other material for disposal where that is reasonably practicable.
  • Double wrapped in heavy-duty plastic (0.2mm thick), securely taped using 'Gaffer tape'.
  • Labelled or marked with the words “CAUTION ASBESTOS” in letters no less than 50 millimeters high.

All asbestos material must be disposed at a disposal site licensed by Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, to accept asbestos waste.
