Information and Resources for Electors and Candidates

 

A Council serves the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale consisting of six (6) elected members, and a Shire President, which cover three (3) wards: North ward, North West ward and South ward.

Elected members are elected to their positions for a four-year term. Local government elections in Western Australia are held every two (2) years. This means that approximately half of the positions on council become available to contest each election.

While voting in a local government election is not compulsory in Western Australia, all electors are strongly encouraged to vote.

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s ordinary elections are administered by the Western Australian Electoral Commission and are conducted by post.

Outcome of the 2025 Ordinary Election

The results of the Shire's 2025 Ordinary Local Government Election are now available on the WAEC website: Local Government Elections | Western Australian Electoral Commission

This election sees the Shire with 3 newly elected councillors, and 1 re-elected councillor as follows:

  • In the North Ward, Courtney Mazzini has been re-elected and Kim Glisenti has been first time elected. 

  • In the North West Ward, Joel Chan has been first time elected.

  • In the South Ward, Matthew Scott has been first time elected.
