Sporting Travel Grant

Residents of the Shire can apply for financial assistance towards travel expenses associated with being selected to compete in a national or international sporting competition. This includes selection on a state or national team that is sanctioned by a state or national sporting body.

Funding available

Individual - $200

Team - $500 (where there are more than three applications from a single team)


  • Selected representatives are entitled to one donation per person in any one financial year
  • Applicants must be residents of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale who are selected to represent their chosen sport at local, national or international level at an accredited event.
  • The application form must be submitted at least 14 days prior to competition date.
  • If more than three applications from a single team are received for a single tour or championship, the sum of $500 will be donated to the whole team instead of the individuals. When it is likely that multiple applications from the same team will apply for funding, the Club will be contacted to discuss if a team donation is more appropriate.
  • If applying as a team, please provide the club or associations bank account details for payment of the grant. The club or association is then responsible for the distribution of the grant to applicants. If applying as a team please complete an application form for each child.


  • Please note the donation is only available to participants. Coaches, support staff and chaperones are not eligible to apply for funding.
  • The Sporting Travel Grants are not funded retrospectively.
