Temporary eastbound lane closure on Abernethy Road, between George Street to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

The closure will commence on Tuesday 12 November 2019 and is expected to be re-opened Tuesday 10 December 2019. Weather conditions and operational changes may require these works to be rescheduled at short notice, please check this page for updates.

The Shire advises road users of the westbound lane closure on Abernethy Road, between South Western Highway to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) to assist the construction of Abernethy Road and Soldiers Road intersection.

Please see detours below:

1. Eastbound traffic on Abernethy Road, heading towards South Western Highway from Hopkinson Road, has full access to South Western Highway, however traffic is unable to turn right onto Soldiers Road.
2. Westbound traffic heading towards Hopkinson Road from South Western Highway is unable to access Abernethy Road and will be detoured.
3. Northbound traffic heading towards Abernethy Road from Soldiers Road will be unable to exit onto Abernethy Road and will be detoured

If traffic control is not present as you exit your street, please exit with the traffic flow with care.

Please note that all the business on Abernethy Road, Soldiers Road and George Street remain open and detours are in place to allow access.
