Daisy - Falcons Basketball Club

Daisy Berkahn was recognised as a part of the Shire’s Volunteer Recognition Program for her hard work with the Falcons Basketball Club. Daisy received a $50 voucher to a restaurant of her choice located within the Shire.

We asked Daisy a few questions about her experience volunteering:

How did you get involved in volunteering for your club/group?

My son was involved in the club as a player. They were looking for volunteers for the junior program so I put my hand up.

How long have you been involved in volunteering?

Two years.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

Helping the kids with their skills, watching them improve every week. Seeing them enjoying themselves and having some fun.

What makes your club/group special to you?

It’s a family-friendly club in the SJ Shire that has helped my son grow and develop with his skills and confidence. It’s a club that provides development and fun for all abilities and all ages. A club that supports players, referees and coaching development.

Why would you recommend others to get involved in volunteering?

It’s helping out your community, getting amongst it and giving back.
