Important controlled burns will be carried out near the intersection of South Western Highway and Transit Road in Mundijong from Tuesday, 18 April – Wednesday, 19 April.

These burns will address a significant high-risk area in our Shire, reducing the fuel load on either side of the highway with several of our local volunteer brigades carrying out the works.

Traffic management (including reduced speed limits) is in place for the duration of the burns. Motorists are urged to use caution when accessing the area.

Several key controlled burns will be carried out across the Shire over the coming weeks, with the autumn season one of the main burning periods in the South West.
