Book a hard waste collection
Shire households can book up to two free hard waste verge collections each year.
Each collection can include up to 3m³ of eligible household items, including furniture, mattresses, white goods and electronic waste.

Before booking, consider whether your unwanted items could be sold, donated, repaired, recycled or given to someone who can reuse them.

Recyclable items may be collected separately. Mattresses, electronic waste, white goods and metals may be collected by a different truck on the same day or the following day. Please leave these items on the verge if they have not yet been collected.
How to place your items
- Place items neatly on your own verge.
- Separate mattresses, white goods, metals and electronic waste from other items.
- Make sure the collection truck can safely access the piles.
- Keep items clear of trees, fences, sprinklers, vehicles, signs, power poles and power domes.
- Do not block roads, footpaths, driveways, bin collection areas or neighbouring properties.
- Do not place items on vacant land or public reserves.
Cottage blocks and properties without a standard verge
Where possible, place your hard waste where you normally leave your bins for collection.
If this is not possible, contact the Shire on 9526 1111 and select menu option 3 before placing your items out.
Collection allowances
Each eligible household receives two free collections each year. Allocations are renewed on 1 June and expire on 31 May the following year. Unused collections do not carry over.
If you place out more than 3m³, the additional waste may be counted as your second free collection. The Shire will contact you if another collection needs to be booked or paid for.

Ready to book?
Bookings can take up to seven weeks, so plan ahead and wait for confirmation before placing items on the verge.
