Rates Concessions and Rebates

Pensioner and Senior Rebates

Eligible pensioners and seniors may be entitled to a rebate or deferment on local government rates and the Emergency Services Levy through the State Government’s Pensioners and Seniors Rebate Scheme.

Who is eligible?

  • Own and occupy the property as your ordinary place of residence on 1 July of the current financial year.
  • Registered with the Water Corporation to apply for the rebate.

What are the benefits?

  • The rebate applies from the date of registration with the Water Corporation.
  • No administration fees are charged.
  • No penalty interest for late payment.
  • Rates due date: 30 June each financial year.

Rates Concessions

If your property meets certain criteria, you may be eligible for a concession that reduces your rates.

Available Concessions

  • Farmland Concession (31%)
    For properties in the UV Rural category genuinely used for farming. Reviewed every four years.
  • Conservation Concession (50%)
    For properties with significant conservation value, like bushland or wetlands.
  • Trotting Complex Precinct Concession (30%)
    For property owners professionally involved in the horse racing industry within the precinct.

All concessions take effect from 1 July each year.
