Community Recreation Centre

The Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre is run by YMCA WA and is located in Byford. The centre has a range of function rooms and sporting facilities for hire.

The following type of functions may be classed as high risk and will require additional information:

  • 18th Birthdays
  • 21st Birthdays

Liquor Permits

For the consumption of alcohol at a Shire Facility, please complete the Application to Consume Alcohol at a Council Facility form.

Permit to Consume Alcohol on Shire Property Application Form

If you are selling alcohol at your function, please obtain a permit by contacting the Department of Gaming, Racing and Liquor WA at www.rgl.wa.gov.au/liquor

A copy of this permit must be submitted to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale along with your application.

Bonds

Bonds are required to be paid for the use of Shire owned facilities. The bond amount will depend on the type of event being held:       

  • $150 to $2000 hall hire bond
  • $50.00 venue key bond

A Request for Refund Application should be completed after your event for the reimbursement of your bond. The form can be downloaded below.

Community Bus

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has a Community Bus is available for hire it seats 21 persons including the driver.

The bus is a diesel powered Toyota Coaster and does not use petrol.

Filling the tank with petrol will cause significant damage. Please read the Application Form below for the conditions of hire and fee information.

Available Facilities

Bill Hicks Reserve Hall & Reserve


The Bill Hicks Reserve Hall is located in Byford. It is best suited for children’s parties, small intimate functions and small meetings. The Reserve hosts a children’s playground and small oval. 

Briggs Park Pavilion & Reserves


The Briggs Park Pavilion is located on the Corner of Mead Street and Gordin Way in Byford. The venue has two hireable spaces and is adjacent to two sporting reserves – Upper Briggs Park Reserve and Lower Briggs Park Reserve.

Bruno Gianatti Hall


Located in the heart of Jarrahdale the Bruno Gianatti Memorial Recreational Hall is a well-maintained venue popular with the local community. 

Byford Hall


The venue is ideal for large celebrations Quiz nights, Group fitness and workshops. The venue boasts a fully equipped commercial kitchen ideal for self-catered events. There is also a small meeting room and larger Multipurpose Room for hire within this venue.

Byford Tennis Pavilion & Courts


The home of the Byford Tennis Club the Courts are located on the Eastern side of the South Western Highway and are available for hire all year round.

Clem Kentish Hall & Serpentine Oval


The Clem Kentish Hall's interior has a small carpeted entry area overlooking the large main hall which has parquetry floors with three marked Volleyball/Badminton Courts and a full sized marked Basket Ball Court. The Serpentine Oval is to the North of the building. 

Eric Senior Pavilion, John Lyster Reserve & David Buttfield Equestrian Reserve


Eric Senior Pavilion is a rammed earth building which can cater for up to 150 people. The two equestrian grounds are maintained to a high standard and able to host large equestrian events.

Ivan Elliott Pavilion


The Ivan Elliott Pavilion is situated at the Serpentine Sports Ground on Karnup Road in Serpentine, it is a small older style building which would be suitable for small meetings and workshops.

Jarrahdale Oval


The Jarrahdale Oval is located just off of Nettleton Road on Millars Road in Jarrahdale. The State Forrest surrounds the oval which makes it a great starting point for events that may entail bush trekking or horse trails. The oval is fully fenced and is the venue for the  yearly Lions Club Log ...

Jarrahdale Tennis Courts and Pavilion


The Tennis Courts are located on Munro Street in Jarrahdale. There are four courts available for use. 

Kalimna Sports Reserve & Changerooms


The Kalimna sports Reserve is a new sporting facility ideal for sports such as Little Athletics, Soccer and Cricket.

Keysbrook Hall


The Keysbrook Community Hall is located in the quite town of Keysbrook just off of the South Western Highway.

Mundijong Pavilion, Atwell Pavilion and Mundijong Reserve


The Mundijong Reserve is a full size AFL sporting oval which is home to the Mundijong Centrals Football Club. The reserve includes two venues - The Mundijong Pavilion and the Atwell Pavilion and Change-rooms.

Mundijong ‘The House’


The ‘House’ is situated at 12 Paterson Street Mundijong. It is a small older style building which would suit playgroups small workshops and meetings.

Oakford Community Centre


The Oakford Community Hall is located in a quiet bushland setting.  With a maximum capacity of 100 people this facility is perfectly suited for small gatherings, playgroups and medium sized workshops. There is a secure fenced grassed area which includes a small children’s playground.

Old Hopeland School


The Old Hopeland School is available for small meetings and community or family gatherings.

Serpentine Tennis Courts and Pavilion


The Serpentine Tennis Courts are located on the corner of Wellard Street and Karnup Road in Serpentine; there are four courts available for hire. Two of the courts have recently been set up for Basketball and Netball but can be converted back to tennis courts if required.
