Jeff Ryan - Byford Bushrangers

Jeff Ryan was recently recognised as a part of the Shire’s Volunteer Recognition Program for his hard work with the Byford Bushrangers. Jeff received a $50 voucher to a restaurant of his choice located within the Shire.

We asked Jeff a few questions about his experience volunteering:

How did you get involved in volunteering for your club/group?

Five years ago our son joined the Bushrangers as a junior player, and approximately 3 years ago I joined as a coach. After some consideration in 2020 I decided to become a committee member to help run the club, and was then asked to run as Club President in 2021.

How long have you been involved in volunteering?

My time with the Bushrangers is my first regular volunteering role.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

Helping the young kids to develop their skill both on and off the field.

What makes your club/group special to you?

The family feel of the club. We are a true community club with everyone willing to help out when needed.

Why would you recommend others to get involved in volunteering?

Without volunteers community clubs do not exist. You do not need experience, just a willingness to help.
