Upgrades to a pair of roundabouts on Soldiers Road are set to be carried out later this year as part of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s Hypergrowth Roads Program.

Roundabouts at the intersections of Keirnan Street / Soldiers Road and Cardup Siding Road / Soldiers Road will receive upgrades, with works set to include:

• Adjustments to roundabout layout
• General resurfacing
• Landscaping improvements

Works to the roundabout at the Cardup Siding Road intersection will also include re-shaping the structure to be more circular, while pedestrian refuge will be included in the scope for the Keirnan Street intersection.

Detailed design for these important projects was completed in recent weeks, with the tender and procurement phase to begin in the new financial year.

Construction for these works is expected to begin in October 2023.

The Hypergrowth Roads Program outlines extensive upgrades for three key roads in our Shire, including Soldiers Road, Kargotich Road and Orton Road.

The Program is funded by an $18 million State Government commitment and is a major step forward on our journey to building a safer roads network in Serpentine Jarrahdale.
