The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is pleased to announce that the Draft Council Plan, formerly Strategic Community Plan, is now available for public comment.

After an extensive community consultation period in March and April earlier this year, the draft ten-year strategy, featuring the Shire’s Vision, Mission, and objectives, is open for feedback.

Shire President Cr Rich is grateful for the overwhelming community response: ‘’More than 600 community members had their say on our ten-year strategic plan by attending one of our many pop-up events across SJ, a community workshop or filling out an online survey”, said Cr Rich.

“This has been one of the most extensive engagement campaigns the Shire has ever delivered. We remain committed to ensuring the accuracy and relevance of our strategic plan, which is why we strongly encourage all residents to voice their opinions on the Draft Council Plan," added Cr Rich.

To provide further insights into resident participation, the Shire has published more statistics on the Shire’s engagement page: https://www.yoursaysj.sjshire.wa.gov.au/sj2033

Residents are invited to provide feedback by filling out an online survey, attending a pop-up event or providing direct input via phone. In-person feedback can also be provided at the Byford library throughout July 2023. In August, residents can give in-person feedback at a pop-up stall at the Shire’s Mundijong administration building or visit our stall at the Farmer’s Markets.

By actively participating in the process, residents contribute to developing a sustainable and thriving Shire that reflects the aspirations of its diverse population.
