The first ever Careers & Enterprise Exhibition to be held in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale will be held on June 23 and 24 at Byford Secondary College.

Over 1000 young people from across the region are expected to visit the expo’s Friday event for a tailored student-based experience featuring workshops, stalls and careers advice on June 23.

The public are also invited to visit the expo on Saturday June 24, where a number of local market stalls and food vendors will be attending alongside local exhibitors.

Principal of Byford Secondary College, Mr Paul Jones, said the expo will provide students with the knowledge they need to help decide their future career paths.

“This is an important event which we believe will build career education in our community and provides real employment and training opportunities,” Mr Jones said.

“Byford Secondary is excited to be contributing to this important event which will help current, future and past students discover careers in their local community.”

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is proud to be a Major Supporter of the Careers expo. "By supporting the expo, we're showcasing the opportunities available in the region and attracting skilled workers and new businesses. It's an excellent platform for local employers to connect with job seekers and talent within the community," said Shire President Cr Rich.

The expo is the culmination of years of consideration and efforts by local Government, Industry partners and educators, with support from ALCOA, Wormall Civil, Bendigo Bank, Smartstream technology and the Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
