The Restricted Burning Period will come into effect across the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale on Sunday, 1 October 2023.

During this time, residents can legally burn off garden refuse piles sized at a maximum one cubic meter without a permit.

These burns must take place between the hours of 6pm – 11pm and must be fully extinguished before midnight.

Residents will need to obtain a permit via their local Fire Control Officer for any burning larger than one cubic metre.

Any resident wishing to carry out a burn must notify the Department of Fire and Emergency Services on 9395 9209 before commencing.
