Nominations open for Community Citizen of the Year Awards

Nominations are open for the 2021 Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Clem Kentish Community Service Award and Auspire Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

Shire President Cr Michelle Rich said the awards were the perfect opportunity to honour those who make outstanding contributions to our community.

“These awards highlight the great efforts our citizens go to in ensuring SJ is connected, active and a wonderful place to live,” Cr Rich said.

“It’s a pleasure to present these awards each year and to honour those who make significant contributions to the community.

“I encourage anyone who knows of a deserving winner to put their name forth and nominate them for these awards.”

Clem Kentish Community Service Award

This award aims to recognise long-standing contributions of more than 20 years of service to the SJ community, and highlights those who work tirelessly to make our shire the wonderful place it is.

Auspire Community Citizen of the Year Award categories

  • Citizen of the Year: A person you believe has delivered outstanding service to his or her community.
  • Citizen of the Year – Senior: An older person you believe has delivered outstanding service to the community. To be eligible the person must be over 65 years of age on 26 January 2022.
  • Citizen of the Year – Youth: A young person you believe has delivered outstanding service to the community. To be eligible, the person must be under 25 years of age on 26 January 2022.
  • Award for Active Citizenship: A group doing outstanding work or for an event staged in the community during the past year.

Nominations close 5pm Sunday, 31 October 2021.

Awards will be presented at the Shire’s annual Australia Day ceremony, 26 January 2022.
