The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is pleased to announce that site works have commenced at Mundijong Junction Industrial Estate, marking a significant milestone in the development of the West Mundijong Industrial Area.

In collaboration with planning and survey firm Harley Dykstra and visionary investor Bob Fowler, the Shire spearheads the ambitious project to redefine the Mundijong landscape and elevate the region’s economic prosperity.

In a strategic move to attract businesses to the area, the project has been christened “Mundijong Junction – Industrial Estate,” paying tribute to Mundijong’s historic role as a railway siding, connecting industry with the hills.

Having secured 25 hectares of prime land in 2022, the Fowler Group, supported by the Shire, is set to breathe new life into the rural landscape, reconnecting Mundijong with industry.

Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale President Rob Coales said, “The Shire has been very proactive in bringing investors to Mundijong. By year-end, eight large dry industry lots will be available for purchase, representing a significant stride towards injecting much-needed industry into the heart of SJ.”

“This also has the add-on benefit of providing more local employment opportunities for our residents.”

Fowler Group Managing Director Bob Fowler said the company was excited to see works progress on the ground and thanked the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and Harley Dykstra for their support.

“It’s exciting to be a pioneer and be the first to develop this precinct,” Bob Fowler, Managing Director at Fowler Group, said.

The works for phase 1 include the construction of new roads, drains, footpaths, and underground power. Henry Dykstra said: “the project aims to attract a variety of ‘dry industry’ businesses to the district, in particular businesses that require larger land areas and that are capable of harvesting and managing their water requirements on-site.”

The initial phase of works is expected to conclude around July 2024, with titles expected during the last quarter of 2024, making the industrial lots available for sale.

Mike Dunsmore from O’Neil Real Estate is actively seeking first expressions of interest.

Once increased demand and services become available, the area will evolve into a more intensive industrial area, in terms of lot size and built form.
