In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 and the Closure and Restriction (Limit the Spread) Directions (No 4), the Shire’s June Ordinary Council Meeting will be open to the public with seating provided that meets physical distancing provisions.

The Shire has prepared a COVID-19 Safety Plan to ensure everyone is kept safe.  The COVID-19 Safety Plan contains the following provisions:

  • The maximum capacity of the public gallery is 40 persons;
  • A record of public attendees will be maintained for the purposes of contact tracing. This is a condition of entry.
  • Seating distance will exceed the 2sq.m.
  • Shared spaces will be thoroughly cleaned.

The Shire is prohibited under the public health laws from exceeding 40 members in the public gallery.

Seating in the public gallery will be allocated on arrival. First option for seating allocation will be given to members of the public who have pre-lodged a public question, statement or an approved deputation.

Information on how you can ask a question, make a statement or request to make a deputation at Monday’s Ordinary Council Meeting is available on the Shire’s website here.
