There’s lots of family fun to be had in the Shire of SJ these July school holidays with some great activities and events happening in our community for all ages.

Explore the wonder of Magical Park

Oh no! The robots have lost their heads and some of their limbs. Can you help find their parts and put them back together? Some of them squeak and need a bit of oil it seems. See what you can do and help those robots get back on their feet.
Bill Hicks Magical Park is back these holidays. Use your smart device to help the robots or try one of nine other adventures. Download the free app to activate an exciting and engaging magical world when you enter the magical park’s boundaries. (Mobile data usage applies)
Children under 12 must be supervised.

Glenn Swift Storyteller 

 Join Storyteller Glenn B. Swift as he entertains both children and adults with his unique and fascinating tales.

Glenn is a master storyteller who has an ability to respond to a diversity of cultural and developmental needs in his audience, making him Western Australia’s most in-demand storyteller.
Suitable for children aged 5-8 years. Children under 12 must be supervised.

Full STEAM Ahead!

Ahoy there! All aboard for the STEAM Ahead event filled with fun science, technology, and arts-based activities.

  • Experiment with coding with our Sphero + and Strawbees robots
  •  Try your hand at simple sewing, play a game on the Nintendo Switch
  • Be inventive with the light box
  • Make a battery from fruit and craft a magnetic toy car
  • And if you are 13 years and over you can try out the Oculus virtual reality goggles.

Futsal Youth Festival - headspace

The Futsal Youth Festival will bring together young people between the ages of 12 - 25 to play a one day indoor soccer tournament while highlighting the importance of mental health through an active platform.

NAIDOC Movie Night

Come along to the NAIDOC Movie Night at the Mundijong Public Library, featuring observational documentary, In My Blood It Runs.

The documentary follows 10-year-old Arrernte Aboriginal boy Dujuan as he grows up in Alice Springs.

From the creators of Adventure Quest Car Rally these school holidays we bring you the Street Olympics Scavenger Hunt.

The Shire’s Youth Drop-In Centre at Briggs Park will be open on selected days during the school holidays.
