Serpentine Jarrahdale residents have the chance to win big this Saturday simply by snapping a selfie with a Christmas Elf. A Christmas Extravaganza is planned along Abernethy Road to celebrate the road being open end-to-end and to encourage people to shop local in the lead up to Christmas.

Free photos with Santa will also be available next to the Jarrahdale Volunteer Fire Brigade Truck, located in the forecourt at the side of ALDI Byford, where Heritage FM 107.3FM will also be doing a live broadcast.

Shire President Michelle Rich said with the countdown to Christmas well and truly underway, the Christmas Extravaganza was aimed at encouraging people to come back to Abernethy Road.

“In support of all local businesses, we are encouraging residents to make a small change this Christmas and Buy Local, Eat Local, Enjoy Local,” Cr Rich said.

“I hope residents also take advantage of the free activities happening this Saturday as part of the Christmas Extravaganza.”

The Christmas Extravaganza also includes Christmas Elves at Byford Town Centre, Byford Village, Byford Marketplace and Lakeside Plaza Byford.

Shoppers who snap a photo with a Christmas Elf and post it to Instagram using the hashtag #ElfYourselfSJ or email it to communications@sjshire.wa.gov.au by 5pm on the day will go in the draw to win a hamper prize.

All activities are taking place this Saturday, 14 December from 9am – 12pm.
