(Past Event)
Food Waste is a global challenge that has environmental, economic and social impacts.
Each year in Australia we waste around 7.6 million tonnes which is equivalent to 312kg PER PERSON!
This waste is estimated to cost the Australia economy $20 billion. In 2017 the Australian government set a target to halve food waste by 2030.
Let me show you how you can play a role at home to help meet this target.
Topics covered in this presentation:
- Buying Food
- Growing Food
- Storing Food
- Cooking with Scraps
- Composting food waste
“Reducing Kitchen Waste” is presented by Robyn Brown from Waste Is My Resource, in partnership with the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an online event which will be presented in the form of a slide presentation with question time at the end.
