Reece Jerrett, originating from Mardella within the South Ward of Serpentine Jarrahdale, is a dedicated advocate for agriculture and rural communities. His journey into agriculture began when his family moved from Mandurah to Serpentine Jarrahdale in 2008. His involvement in poultry and waterfowl breeding and exhibition led to leadership roles in organisations such as the West Australian Poultry Association and the Royal Agricultural Society of WA Pigeons & Poultry committee. He served as the past president of the Serpentine Jarrahdale Food & Farm Alliance and was appointed as the Australian Rural Ambassador in 2023.
Beyond agriculture, Reece contributes to community organisations such as the SJ Community Resource Centre and Landcare SJ, where he continued to use his skills in event management and environmental conservation. Presently employed in the resource sector, Reece demonstrates versatility and commitment to community, agriculture, and environmental concerns.
As a Councillor of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, Reece aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities, fostering inclusivity and emphasising the importance of preserving agricultural areas for food security and the local economy.
