With the 2026 WA Ranger of the Year Award winners set to be announced this week, the Shire is proud to recognise Ranger and Coordinator Community Safety, Thomas Vassallo, who has been named a finalist.

Thomas’ nomination recognises his commitment to the local community, professionalism and practical approach to working with residents, community groups and other agencies to resolve issues.

Through his role, Thomas works closely with the community across a range of local matters and is known for taking the time to listen, follow up concerns and work towards practical and respectful outcomes.

His recognition as a finalist highlights the important role Rangers play in supporting community safety, responding to local issues and building positive relationships with residents across the Shire.

The winner of the 2026 WA Ranger of the Year Award will be announced on 17 September.
