Road Naming
Roads created through subdivision must be named in accordance with Clause 26A of the Land Administration Act 1997. As part of this process, the relevant local government is required to endorse the proposed road names.
The Shire has approved a list of potential road names drawn from the Local Heritage Survey.
These names are available for applicants to consider when proposing new road names within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. Using names linked to the Shire’s heritage helps preserve local history and adds meaning to new places. The approved list is intended to support applicants by providing historically relevant options, while still allowing flexibility in the naming process.
Once road names are selected and endorsed by the Shire, they are submitted to Landgate for final approval.
Landgate holds delegated authority from the responsible Minister to formally approve road names.
