The Flavours of Our Community Cookbook

The Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale invites community members to be part of something meaningful through the Community Cookbook, delivered as part of the Save More, Waste Less project, co-funded by the Waste Authority. This initiative will run from May 2026 through to October 2026.
Everyone has a favourite dish that brings back special memories — a family recipe passed down through generations, a meal that reminds you of home, or a dish that became a tradition around the table.
We're creating a community cookbook that celebrates the people, cultures and stories that make our community unique. Help us showcase the flavours of our region by sharing a recipe that's meaningful to you.

Each submission should include at least one practical tip showing how an ingredient can be reused in another dish. For example, lemon juice used in a recipe could be followed by a suggestion to use the peel in a dessert such as lemon pie.
Selected recipes will be featured in a professionally produced printed Community Cookbook.

To recognise and reward participation, some of the contributors who submit innovative, waste-conscious recipes will be selected to receive:

  • One of ten $20 Coles Group gift cards to help purchase ingredients
  • One of three $50 Bunnings Warehouse gift cards

Join us in sharing your ideas, reducing food waste, and inspiring others—one recipe at a time. By participating, you agree to the Terms and Conditions of the program.

The compilation and editing process will take place in October 2026, with printed copies expected to be distributed in December 2026 to contributors.
