Byford is officially pumped! The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s brand-new bike pump track at Briggs Park is now open, ready for riders of all ages and skill levels to ride, connect, and have a blast.
The track features a flowing main loop for all riders, plus an advanced jump line for those looking to push their skills to the next level.
The pump track adds a high-energy, action-packed recreation option for the growing Byford community, giving young people, families, and adventure-seekers another reason to get outdoors, get moving, and enjoy the fresh air.
There’s also shaded seating and a drink fountain at the viewing area to ensure that all the family can watch and share in the bike pump track experience.
A bike pump track is a looped track made up of rollers and berms that lets riders build speed and momentum by shifting their body weight rather than pedalling, making it fast, fun, and completely addictive.
The project was made possible through a State Government election commitment and delivered as part of the State Government's PlayOn WA: 2,030 by 2030 initiative which is guiding investment in sport and recreation infrastructure across the State.
A contribution to the project was also made by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

Comments attributable to Shire President Rob Coales:
“This is the Shire’s first bike pump track and it’s exciting to see it open and ready to go. It gives kids, teenagers and families a place to ride, challenge themselves and burn off some energy in a safe, purpose-built space.
“As Shire President, I’m particularly proud that this project reflects feedback from our young people. We took the time to listen, and their ideas directly informed the design and delivery of this facility. It’s a great example of how engaging with our community leads to better outcomes.
“We appreciate the support of the State Government and the Member for Darling Range in helping make this happen.
“As our community grows, facilities like this are critical in ensuring that Serpentine Jarrahdale continues to be a liveable and connected place.
“This fantastic new bike pump track will contribute to a well-connected, accessible and healthy SJ for generations to come.”
