Shire President Rob Coales was joined this morning by representatives from the Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, Serpentine Jarrahdale Emergency Support Brigade and project contractor Cloudbreak WA to officially mark the commencement of construction on the new Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Station.

Supported by $2.26 million in State Government funding, the new facility will provide a modern, purpose-built home for more than 70 dedicated volunteers who respond to around 150 callouts each fire season.

Once complete, the station will help ensure our emergency services volunteers have the facilities, equipment and training spaces needed to continue protecting our growing community for decades to come.

The Shire thanks the State Government, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, Serpentine Jarrahdale Emergency Support Brigade and all project partners for their support of this important community investment.
