Shire seeks community input on proposed pump track in Byford

SJ residents are being invited to have their say on the potential development of a pump track in Byford.

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, in collaboration with pump track experts Common Ground, has initiated a feasibility study to gauge whether the facility would be viable for the Byford area.

The Shire is actively seeking feedback from residents to help decide:

  • If the community supports a pump track in Byford
  • What amenities the pump track should include
  • Where a preferred site would be located
  • Pump track layout and features

The Shire will be hosting a special pop-up community engagement event to gauge interest on the pump track on Tuesday, 4 July from 3pm-6pm at Briggs Park, 38 Mead Street, Byford.

Alternatively, residents can have their say online by completing our survey here.

What is a pump track?

A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by bike riders “pumping” (generating momentum by up and down body movements instead of pedalling or pushing).

Who will make the final decision on this project?

The feasibility study report will be presented to Council for further consideration to repurpose the election commitment funding from the Byford Nature Splash Park.
