The Shire was proud to welcome 45 new Australian citizens at our recent Citizenship Ceremony.
New citizens from 15 countries officially became Australians, including Afghanistan, Cambodia, Ghana, India, Ireland, Mauritius, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Scotland, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
The evening was made even more special with a beautiful performance by Ava Sharp, while guests also heard from Leigh Hales of the SJ Farmers Market, who shared an inspiring message about community, belonging and local connections.
We were honoured to be joined by Mr Hugh Jones MLA, Member for Darling Range, and Honourable Phil Twiss MLC, Member for Western Australia, who helped celebrate this significant occasion.
Congratulations to our newest citizens. We are delighted to welcome you to Australia and to the Serpentine Jarrahdale community. We look forward to the contributions, cultures and stories you will bring as part of our growing and diverse community.
