Community Safety Month isn’t just about safety – it’s about improving the community’s health and wellbeing.
This October the Shire has a range of free events and activities to get SJ residents looking out for each other. From first aid courses, wellbeing workshops and community festivals, there’s something for everyone.
We’ll also be marking WA Mental Health Awareness Week, from 4 to 11 October, with the emphasis on spotting the signs of mental health issues and how to help if a loved one needs assistance.
The Shire’s popular CCTV Subsidy Program is available not just during Community Safety Month, but from now until 30 June next year – or until the funding runs out.
The program offers eligible residents and businesses in SJ a subsidy of up to $500 for professionally installed or $300 for DIY installations of CCTV.
