Aboriginal Culture Story & Arts for Kids (Ages 5 to 12)

Thursday 19th March 2026

Aboriginal Storytime & Arts @ Byford Library

The Booyi Cultural Program offers children a hands-on, interactive introduction to Aboriginal culture and heritage.

During this engaging session, children will explore a display of traditional Aboriginal materials, including animal skins, artefacts, tools, clothing and bush foods. Participants are encouraged to touch, handle and examine the items while learning about their purpose, stories and cultural significance.

Children will get to decorate their own art to take home and to celebrate Harmony Week.

Presented in an age-appropriate and respectful way, this session supports curiosity, understanding and connection to culture through real-world learning rather than just observation. It’s an immersive experience that helps children learn by seeing, touching and asking questions.
