Several Aussie traditions - including a free BBQ breakfast and backyard cricket match - will headline the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s Australia Day festivities on Wednesday, 26 January 2022.
Briggs Park Upper Oval in Byford will once again come to life for the free annual event, where community members are invited to join in the fun.
The Shire will also honour local community heroes and welcome our newest Australian citizens at the Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony.
Shire President Cr Michelle Rich said the event was an opportunity for the SJ community to come together and reflect, respect and celebrate.
“Australia Day provides us with an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution that everyone in our community makes,” Cr Rich said.
“We look forward to our community joining us for a fun-filled morning sharing a BBQ breakfast and a hit of cricket for our Australia Day celebrations.”
Anyone attending the event is required to follow State Government health guidelines.
