The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has officially sworn in its new Council members and a new Deputy President, following the local government election on Saturday, 18 October.

At a ceremony at the Council Chambers in Mundijong, Shire President Rob Coales welcomed new Councillors Kim Glisenti (North Ward), Joel Chan (North West Ward) and Matthew Scott (South Ward).  All have been elected for a four-year term, expiring in October 2029.

Councillor Courtney Mazzini (North Ward) has been elected for a two-year term, expiring in October 2027.

Councillor Reece Jerrett has been elected as the Shire’s Deputy President and was sworn in at the ceremony for a two-year term. Councillor Jerrett replaces outgoing Councillor Tricia Duggin, who didn’t contest this election.

Shire President Rob Coales said: “I would like to thank everyone who put their hand up to stand for Council and serve the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale at these elections. It takes a great deal of commitment to nominate, and being an Elected Member is a tremendous responsibility.

“I would like to thank outgoing Councillor and Deputy President Tricia Duggin, and outgoing Councillor Shaye Mack for their passion and contribution to the Shire.  Councillor Duggin and Councillor Mack are committed community advocates, and their efforts have been greatly appreciated.  I wish them both the best in their future endeavours.

"Congratulations to all who were elected to Council, and to Councillor Reece Jerrett for his election as Deputy President. I look forward to working with all Councillors as we continue to serve our community, working hard to build a bright, positive and welcoming Shire, where everyone feels at home.”
