Public Notice: Permanent intersection closure - Jersey Road and Timbrel Road

Published on Thursday, 29 October 2026 at 10:35:07 AM

In accordance with Section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995, proposed notice is hereby given that the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is required to make permanent thoroughfare changes to:

  • Jersey Road at the intersection of Timbrel Road; and
  • Timbrel Road, between Jersey Road and north of Charolais Court.

These changes will involve the construction of cul-de-sacs at both locations to facilitate construction of the Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade (THETRU) Project, including the northbound Tonkin Highway exit ramp onto Thomas Road.

These changes will take effect from January 2027, following the reopening of Abernethy Road.

Access for properties within the Oakford Fields Estate will be maintained via local access arrangements, including Abernethy Road via Byford Meadows Drive and Kargotich Road via Greyman Street.

Bushfire safety and emergency response are key considerations in planning the closures. The Shire and the THETRU project team are working with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services to ensure emergency access routes are incorporated into the future road arrangements.
