Rapids Road in Serpentine (between Lowlands Road and Karnup Road) will be closed from 8 – 12 May 2023 to allow for both bushfire mitigation and road upgrade works.

These works are a collaboration between the Shire’s Infrastructure and Emergency Services teams, and have been planned at the same time to limit the amount of road closures needed and reduce the impact to the SJ community.

Mitigation works will consist of uplifting trees to increase bushfire safety, while road upgrades will include drainage and shoulder works, as well as resurfacing the approach to Brian Coffey Bridge.

Traffic management and detours will be in place for the duration of the works. Access will remain for local traffic only.
