Collection Notice – Public Participation

Your personal information is being collected by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for the purpose of:

  • Responding to your request to participate in a Council or Committee meeting,
  • Providing a response, if required, that arises from the meeting (for example responding to questions taken on notice),
  • Finalising the minutes of the meeting, whereby the name and suburb of the person asking a question, statement or making a deputation, will be recorded in the minutes of the meeting (unless advised otherwise).

Consequences of not providing personal information

If you do not provide the requested information, the Shire may be unable to respond to you on any matter arising from a Council or Committee meeting.

Use and disclosure of personal information

The Shire uses and discloses personal information only for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a related purpose that an individual would reasonably expect.

Personal information may be disclosed to Shire employees where required to perform their duties.

The Shire will not disclose personal information for unrelated purposes without consent, unless permitted or required by law.
