The Shire is proud to recognise Ranger and Coordinator Community Safety, Thomas Vassallo, who has been named the 2026 WA Ranger of the Year.

Presented annually to acknowledge exceptional achievement within local government ranger services across Western Australia, the award recognises Thomas' dedication to supporting the community through a practical, respectful and solutions-focused approach.

Thomas is recognised for his ability to work collaboratively with residents, community groups and partner agencies to resolve a wide range of local issues. He is known for taking the time to listen, follow up concerns and deliver positive outcomes that benefit the community.

This well-deserved recognition reflects both Thomas' individual contribution and the important role Rangers play in maintaining community safety, supporting compliance and fostering positive relationships across the Shire.
