Something for every age and interest

This Easter school holiday program includes hands-on workshops, creative activities, educational sessions and exciting experiences for children, young people and families.

Young food lovers can get involved in Junior Kitchen with Grow Cook Eat WA, while older participants can build real kitchen skills at Cooking with MasterChef contestant Alex Crisp.

There are plenty of opportunities to get creative too, with Minky’s Face Painting offering a fun and practical workshop, while curious minds can put their problem-solving skills to the test at Junior Forensics – CSI Science or discover the ancient world at Adventure with Fossils.

Hands-on fun, nature and messy play

For younger children, the program includes a range of interactive experiences that encourage imagination, movement and discovery.

Recycled Play invites little ones to explore colour, texture and shape through creative play, while Wonderful Worm Waste brings sustainability, mini beasts and hands-on discovery together in one fun session.

Families can also look forward to Muddy Buddies, adding even more outdoor fun to the school holiday line-up with opportunities for children to play, explore and connect with nature in a hands-on way.

Big experiences for young people

The School Holiday Program also includes exciting youth outings beyond the Shire.

Young people can explore one of Western Australia’s most iconic heritage sites on the Fremantle Prison Tour, or burn off energy at BOUNCE Cannington, with transport included from Byford Youth Space.

One of the major highlights of the holidays is Youth Fest, returning to Briggs Park on 16 April with live music, activities and a great atmosphere as part of Youth Week.

Fun for the whole family

Families can also enjoy a range of community events across the holiday period.

Family Fun Day at Byford Library promises a mix of activities, entertainment and opportunities to connect with local family services, while the Nature Night Walk offers a chance to experience Jarrahdale Heritage Park after dark and learn more about local wildlife and the natural environment.

Book early

With activities running throughout April, there are plenty of ways to mix and match events and build a school holiday schedule that suits your family.

Many sessions have limited places, so early booking is recommended.
