The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s Skill Up Program is continuing in 2026, offering local young people the opportunity to build practical skills and gain industry-recognised qualifications.
The free program is designed for young people aged 12 to 24 who are preparing for their first job, looking to strengthen their resume or wanting to expand their qualifications.
Participants can take part in accredited training and practical learning designed to support employment, volunteering and further study opportunities.
The 2026 program will include:
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training on Thursday, 9 July
- White Card construction industry training on Wednesday, 7 October
- Alcoa industry tour on Thursday, 8 October
The Responsible Service of Alcohol course provides participants with an understanding of the legal requirements and responsibilities associated with serving alcohol, while also enabling them to obtain their RSA certification.
The White Card training will support young people interested in construction and related industries by helping them gain an essential certification for entering construction worksites.
Participants who complete the White Card training will also have the opportunity to attend the Alcoa tour, providing insight into local industry and potential career pathways.
The 2026 Skill Up Program is supported by Alcoa.
Bookings are essential and registrations for the first training are open now.
