Byford Skate Park is set to take on a bold new look, with Western Australian artist Jerome Davenport beginning work on vibrant skate-inspired artwork this week.

From Wednesday 4 February, the skate park flood lights will be temporarily switched off for up to three days to allow the artist to safely transform the blank walls surrounding the newly upgraded facility.

The artwork marks the final creative stage of the Byford Skate Park extension project, following the recent completion of the new ramps and features that have already proven popular with local skaters of all ages and skill levels.

Once complete, the new artwork will bring colour, movement and personality to the space, reflecting the energy and creativity of the local skate community while enhancing the park as a place to gather, skate and connect.

While the lights are off, the Shire encourages the community to look forward to the finished result. A more vibrant, welcoming skate park that celebrates youth culture, active lifestyles and creative expression in Serpentine Jarrahdale.

The Shire thanks skate park users and the wider community for their understanding during this short period, and looks forward to unveiling the completed artwork soon.
