Kids Author Talk & Activities with Narelle Wynter (Ages 4 to 8)

Monday 19th January 2026

Author Visit - Narelle Wynter

Author Narelle, a Perth-based paediatric speech pathologist with over 30 years’ experience, wrote I’d Rather Eat Chocolate to build reading confidence in young children and to inspire healthier eating habits. Illustrated by Rebecca Cool, the book uses rhyme, repetition, and playful veggie-powered animal characters to help kids enjoy reading and learn how vegetables fuel the body.

The interactive 1-hour session includes an author introduction, Q&A, two readings of the story—one with props and dress-ups—fun literacy activities exploring rhyme and syllables, and a hands-on craft where children create their own mini veggie greenhouses.

All materials are provided.
