Paula - Lightweight Motorcycle Club

Paula Taylor was recognised as a part of the Shire’s Volunteer Recognition Program for her hard work with the Lightweight Motorcycle Club. Paula received a $50 voucher to a restaurant of her choice located within the Shire.

We asked Paula a few questions about her experience volunteering:

How did you get involved in volunteering for your club/group?

My son started riding when he was six and I wanted to be able to help out more so I asked where I could help and that’s where it all started.

How long have you been involved in volunteering?

I have been volunteering in motocross for nine years.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

Seeing everybody being able to enjoy what they love doing which is racing, and meeting new people and families.

What makes your club/group special to you?

Being part of the motocross club is just like having another family, if anything happens we always pull together and support each other.

Why would you recommend others to get involved in volunteering?

I think it's great for your mental health being able to help your community and meet new people along the way.
