Elsie

Elsie was recognised for her hard work for St Aidan’s Anglican Parish of Serpentine Jarrahdale. Elsie received a $100 voucher to a restaurant of her choice located within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

We asked Elsie a few questions about her volunteering experience.

How did you get involved in volunteering for your group?

I did not want to sit at home doing nothing after I retired so volunteered through my church with their Op Shop and Café.

How long have you been involved in volunteering?

I’ve been volunteering now for almost three years.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

Meeting people and helping them out, knowing that even my small efforts can make a difference in someone’s life and in the community.

What makes your club/group special to you?

The people I work with are a fantastic lot, they almost become another family and they all go out of their way to help everyone who comes in.
