Getting Published 16+

Saturday 22nd November 2025

Join us for a special event as part of our Community Development Series, featuring Joanne Zara Ellen Morrell — acclaimed author, freelance writer, and podcaster based in Perth, Western Australia.

Writing your book is only the beginning. What comes next is deciding on which path you’ll take to publication. Lucky for us, gone are the days where one choice ruled all. There are many publishing options available to authors today on how they will publish their books.

Individuals interested in publishing their manuscripts can join contemporary women’s fiction, indie author Zara Ellen, pseudonym of Joanne Morrell, to learn about the various types of publishing options available. You will gain firsthand self-publishing advice and know-how from Zara, who has published 4 books across 3 genres, using 3 different Print on Demand services.

Quality, quantity and budget will be the focus topics of the self-published part of the talk. You will view a variety of correct and incorrect self-published products, and gain tips for traditional publication from industry professionals, and hybrid publishing information and legitimate sources.
