How to pay your rates

Pay your rates online

Use the link below to pay your rates online via 'Secure Pay'.

Enter your Customer Reference Number and other details.
Click on 'Make Payment'.

Pay your rates by mail

Detach the slip on the bottom of your rates notice and send with a cheque to 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong, WA 6123.

    Please make your cheque payable to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

    Pay your rates by telephone

    Payments by Mastercard or Visa card can be made by contacting our Rates team.

    Pay your rates in person

    Payment can be made by cash, cheque or EFTPOS at our Administration Centre between the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

    Payment can also be made at any Australia Post outlet with your original rates notice (instalments cannot be made as a barcode is required).

    Other payment arrangements

    Direct Debit

    You can arrange to pay your rates via a direct debit payment arrangement. If you make special arrangements to pay by Direct Debit, you will not incur an administration fee or penalty interest, provided that the direct debit arrangement is honoured and rates are paid in full by 30 June 2018.

    Application for Alternative Payment Arrangement

    If you encounter difficulty with the instalment options offered by Council, you can apply to our Rates team for an alternative rates payment plan. The Rates team can help you set up a formal payment arrangement to automatically deduct payments on a Friday from your nominated bank account. Payments can occur on either a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. 

    Payment arrangements, other than Direct Debit, may attract an interest charge of 11% per annum. If you wish to discuss this further please contact the Rates team.

    Refund Policy

    Our refund policy only applies to rates paid over the phone or online.

    Where Council agrees that a refund is due in respect of Rates, then:

    • The credit / debit card used for the payment will be refunded
    • This will occur within 14 days of the refund being agreed by Council

    Should you have any queries regarding an online payment, please contact our Rates team quoting your receipt reference number.

    Privacy Policy

    Personal information collected for our online payments includes your credit card details and account information. This information is required to process your bill payments and may be shared by us for these purposes between SecurePay (our payment gateway provider), banks and financial institutions.

    If you wish to request access to any personal information we have collected about you for the purposes of accepting an online payment, please contact us.

    Security Policy

    Our website uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption where your payment details are collected. This protects the confidentiality of your credit card information while it is transmitted over the internet.

    We do not store your credit card number. To protect your credit card details we ask that you re-enter your credit card number for each transaction.
