The Shire was pleased to host two officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force on Thursday, 13 February, who are on a two-week exchange program with the Department of Fire and Emergency Service (DFES) to observe emergency management arrangements in WA.

The visit to Mundijong Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade coincided with a visit to the DFES Bushfire Centre of Excellence in Pinjarra, and provided an opportunity for the officers to see first-hand some of the equipment used by Bush Fire Brigades in Western Australia.

Volunteer firefighter and Mundijong Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade captain Jason White and the Shire’s acting Chief Emergency Services Manager Aaron Kain provided the local tour to Major Nick Li and Lieutenant Colonel Ken Kwok Wong.

After a tour of the station and Mundijong’s fire appliances, the two officers were able to observe the Shire’s volunteer brigade officers in action when they were called to a small scrub fire in Hopelands.
