The competition will crown SJ’s top displays across three categories:
- Best Residential Display
- Best Rural Display
- Best Business Display
Winners will share in $2,550 worth of prizes – awarded to first, second and third for each category – and will be decided by a popular vote held via the Shire’s Facebook page.
The Shire’s website will also feature an interactive map of the SJ Christmas Lights Trail for residents to view the entries.
Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale President Cr Michelle Rich said she looked forward to seeing this year’s entries.
“The launch of the SJ Christmas Lights Competition last year proved a great success and showcased our festive spirit,” Cr Rich said.
“With the addition of the rural category, this year’s contest promises to be even better, and I encourage all residents with dazzling lights or a Christmas display to enter the completion.
“This is a wonderful way for our community to celebrate the holiday season.”
SJ Christmas Lights Competition information
- Thursday, 24 November – Registrations close
- Monday, 28 November – Christmas light displays up for entering properties
- Thursday, 1 December – Two-week public voting period commences
- Friday, 16 December – Winners announced
