The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Library Service will celebrate the magic of reading by participating in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday, 25 May 2022.

An initiative run by the Australian Library and Information Association, National Simultaneous Storytime sees libraries, schools, community groups and children’s facilities across the country all reading the same story at the same time.

This year’s story is Family Tree by authors Josh Pyke and Ronojoy Ghosh.

The SJ Library Services event will see the Australian children’s book read out by the amazing Rebecca Flanagan from Musical Experiences for Children, with a craft activity to follow afterwards.

Event details:

  • Wednesday, 25 May 2022
  • 10am – 11.30am
  • Eric Senior Pavilion, 1409 Karnup Road, Serpentine
  • Suitable for children aged 2-5
  • Free entry

National Simultaneous Storytime aims to promote the value of reading and literacy while also shining the light on the important role libraries and other children’s facilities play in our community.
