Environmental conservation works have been completed at Serpentine Sports Reserve thanks to a $21,889 grant from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.

Conservation and protection of threatened ecological communities and threatened flora is vital to the retention and enhancement of WA's biodiversity.

The conservation works carried out will enable the long-term preservation of a Threatened Ecological Community (Endangered community SCP20b, banksia woodland) and Threatened Flora at Serpentine Sports Reserve, which is under threat from Phytophthora dieback and conflicting community uses.

The vegetation has been fenced to manage access and impacts, dieback awareness signs erected to educate users on values and threats to this valuable vegetation community, and weeds, dieback and feral animals controlled.

Thank you to the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program for making this important project possible.

Growing a greener environment, together.
